So I had to post this for everyone to see. I am so excited and hope to win. Anyways, ZAGG is giving away an iPad 2 every hour on Thanksgiving! How awesome is that! I love ZAGG and the products they have. I even had the chance to listen to the founder give a great speech and I was impressed with his vision and love for what he does and ZAGG as a whole.
So now, after that small tangent, anyone out there who would like to enter the giveaway, here is the link to the page: http://www.zagg.com/community/contest.php
I know that by giving this information out to all of my followers I will probably decrease my chance of winning, but it is worth it if one of you wins it instead. So enter and win.
That is all.

Do you have to? Really?
While I was working today, I had a discussion with my co-worker about something that happened on a job. We were fixing a piece on a commercial door, a double door, that involved standing in the opening after taking one door off. While working, people kept going through the door, but not the door that was next to us, but the door we were working on. It wasn't just today and it has happened other times. The question we debated was why do people insist on going through the door we are working on instead of the door that is operational? It always happens this way. We end up having to move to let people through multiple times in a job.
Are we as people really that lazy that we will make someone stop working and move for us just so that we don't have to open a door on our own? Really people? I mean, I am all for not opening another door if there is one already open, I wouldn't make someone stop doing the job to let me through. I will open the other door.
A thought we came up with is people may wonder if the other door is functional and they don't want to break things, but as a worker, I would let people know if a door was out of service so they wouldn't break it by going through it.
My point is don't be lazy and let people work. We need to be courteous to all people. If there is a legitimate reason for coming through the door, by all means come through. That is all.

I was listening to the radio. . .
While working the other day, I was driving back to the shop from a job site. I flipped through radio stations trying to find one that wasn't on commercial. I landed on a religious station. I enjoy listening to what they have to say, even if it is off the wall.
The speaker that day was talking about apostasy in the last days. That immediately caught my attention. I wanted to hear what he had to say on the subject. This pastor was quoting from 1 Timothy 4. He had a lot to say about what it would be like and started talking about how we can see the signs of apostasy.
Now the reason for the post. One of the signs the pastor said would happen is people would try to add to the bible. I thought, "Oh boy here comes the passage from Revelations about not adding to or taking from the book passage." I wasn't wrong, but the interesting thing is that he first quoted Deuteronomy 4:2, which is almost the same wording as Revelations. He said that it is quoted in the fist of the book and at the end, which shows us how god feels about His Holy Word. He also said, speaking of Revelations 22:18-19, "I don't know if John was speaking of just his book or of the Bible, but anyone who adds or takes away from the Bible will have these curses fall upon him."
First of all if you don't know, don't speak. Secondly, how can you really look at those two verses and come up with that conclusion. Although he didn't come out and say it, I got the feeling he was thinking of the Book of Mormon when he talked about adding to "The Book." It just peeves me that people can be so blinded. I can't say I fully understand everything, but come on.
The good thing I did get out of this whole episode is getting some good scripture references about the Apostasy. He really did have some good ones.

October Fun!
Some of us enjoy doing strange things in our free time. One thing I like to do is scare people. I don't know why I enjoy it so much, but I do. So this October I decided to put that desire to scare people to good use. One of the local corn mazes needed some help with their scare crew. What a good idea, getting paid to scare people. I signed up immediately.
This weekend was the first weekend it was haunted. I loved every minute of it. Some people don't get scared easily, but that challenge makes it more interesting for me. I try to get them harder than anyone else. Sometimes I succeed, other I don't, but it is all fun for me. The best is watching people fall down and try to crawl away from me because of how scared they are. I love it! I know that there is probably something wrong with me, but it is what I like to do. If I can get some pictures, I will.
Happy October everyone.

I'm Back!
Not that anyone really cares if I right or not, but since I am back in school with good internet access, I will probably be writing again. Not having internet at home makes it hard to post, and not being in school means I am out of the loop so I don't have much to say.
So, for the reason of this post. . . Way to go Coleby! Not just for the great hit, but for being the kind of person you are. I am a big fan of those who are as concerned as you are. Yes it was a great hit, and I am sure that it helped with the outcome of the game, but for you to come out and talk about Bradford in the way you did really made me feel good. Keep up the good work.
On the football note, I just want to reiterate how I don't like the BCS and their rules. Both BYU in the MWC and Boise State in the WAC will have to go undefeated in the saeson to even be considered for a bowl game. On top of that, only one would probably get in. Neither would have a chance for the Championship though with the way things are run in the BCS. Things there really need to be thought out more.

Opinions Revisited
As stated before, I like to read what people say when they send their opinions to the newspapers. I like to see if they have anything useful to say, if they're biased in anyway, or if they are just off their rockers. What I see is that a lot of people don't know what they are talking about when they write things.
Today for example, I read a good one in the Salt Lake Tribune. A couple submitted this one on the topic of proposition 8 and gay marriage (the title is Clanging Symbols). They have a son who is gay and a good person. No problem with that. It is what else they said that got me.
They stated that "Homosexuality can't be 'overcome'" as has been suggested. They continue "Certainly, it is not a choice, so it is not a sin." Where do they get these ideas? How is homosexuality not a choice?
The best part is this: "No wonder that . . . the 'religious' have become 'a clanging cymbal' as Paul says in 1 Corinthians. (By the way, they put symbol instead of cymbal. Also the reference says tinkling cymbal 1 Cor 13:1). How can they quote (or misquote) Paul like this, acting like good Christians, and still say that homosexuality is not a sin? They call those of us who stand up for what God says in the Bible "a tinkling cymbal"? Do they not read all of the Bible? Why were Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed? Because of wickedness, mainly homosexuality.
I guess I just don't get how people think. Maybe i'm wrong in what I have said here, but I just had to get it out of my system (which is the purpose of my blog).

Grateful
I am so grateful for the life and example of Elder Wirthlin. He was such a great man. I loved his quiet ways and his simple talk. He just moved me. I find it hard to see him as a football player though. He is so gentle.
In his last talk, I could feel his love for the Savior and for us as people. He wanted us to know that too. I loved the theme of that talk as well. "Come What May, and Love It." Such great advice doesn't come very often in this world. He was a great shining example for all of us, and he will be sorely missed.
I bet his family is grateful for this last talk, being they have to let it come and love it. Luckily, the truth of the gospel will always be there for all of us to love whatever comes in our lives. We just have to make the best of it.
Goodbye Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin. Enjoy the rest of your journey.
