Response to opinion. . .

I was reading in the Deseret News this morning, and I came across something that irked me. In the opinion section, there was a guy that was dogging on soccer. He stated that with Real Salt Lake winning now, he almost felt like jumping on the bandwagon. His reason for not doing so, which I'm glad he is not a bandwagon fan, is that he hates soccer. He states that he hates soccer because a team can advance in the playoffs with a tie.

What kind of a stupid reason is that? At least the MLS has playoffs. I am refering to college football, mainly the BCS system, which is totally crazy. How can you crown a champion, a number one team, without giving all the top teams a chance to prove that they are worthy of that title? The rankings for the BCS are completely messed up, especially with human opinion a big part of the ranking system. Then you throw in the fact that some conferences get an automatic bid, no matter how bad they are, and you get the feel for why I am upset. Where does this guy get off criticizing the most widely played sport in the world when they actually have playoffs?

Anyway, I just thought I would stick up for my sport and my team.
